An elegant and engaging atmosphere welcomed Alea’s guests to the Portanuova showroom during Milano Design Week, filled with positive energy and authentic connections. An immersive experience of discovery and celebration, where design, refined finishes, and the sustainability of the new office & contract collections — defined by essential design — were enriched by events dedicated to art, music, and sport.
Through a series of talks and events, we had the opportunity to meet artist Andrea Olivari; designers Alessandro Stabile, Arabella Rocca and Giacomo Sanna; journalist Marina Presello; and DJ-producer Albert Marzinotto. A special moment was also dedicated to the world of rugs, in collaboration with Sirecom. The exhibition “SÌL-LOGE” by artist and sculptor Alberto Pasqual, on display in the showroom until May 31, also attracted significant interest.
The undisputed centerpiece of the installation, located at the heart of the showroom, is Le Roi: a table with wooden legs designed for contemporary workplaces and residential spaces, distinguished by a strong personality and the ability to combine elegance, balance, and a striking visual presence. Alongside it is Chicane: a new collection comprising desks, tables, and benches, characterized by its distinctive steel-sheet leg with an “S”-shaped profile — the collection’s structural and defining feature. Both collections were designed by Mirto Antonel.
With Opera Prima and Cova, m | artedesign — Alea’s contract brand — embarks on a new direction. These two wooden seating collections, an absolute novelty, were designed by Emilio Nanni and embody a timeless essentiality capable of reinterpreting tradition through a contemporary perspective.
Outdoor solutions are also expanding. Designer Alessandro Stabile presented the evolution of the Bolina steel-rod armchair, now developed into a complete family of seating and upholstered pieces, with lounge chair, stool in two heights, and two-seater sofa versions.
