Bespoke functionality and sustainability for Cogefa

Private offices

One of the most interesting redevelopment projects to have been completed in Turin over recent months is the headquarters of Cogefa S.p.A, which involved the restoration of the former Istituto del Buon Pastore. The project, covering a floor area of 3,500 square metres, was overseen by Picco Architetti and +Studio Architetti, who selected in Alea to supply the furniture and fittings, with the key aspects of the brief defined as contemporaneity, functionality and sustainability.

Alea’s contribution focussed on the fitting out of the ground and first floors with furniture aimed at enhancing efficiency, interaction and comfort in these spaces. Dilmun lounge armchairs by m | artedesign welcome visitors in the glass-enclosed entrance hall. Large open-plan spaces, the core of the operational activities, host Atreo custom workstations and F40 pods. Lato lockers and Quattro storage walls define the workspaces and enhance the functionality of the workstations. Flush storage units, also used as planters thanks to the addition of special tubs, integrate the design of the indoor planting – curated by LineeVerdi – into the workspace.

The key finishes are terracotta and midnight blue, the brand colours of Cogefa. These aspects are also found in the second floor and attic floor, that house the executive offices, characterised by enveloping Finn armchairs in midnight blue, the boardroom, and a reception lounge area, connected by a double height space that has been designed as a winter garden.

One of the most iconic elements of the design is the Blue Box, an architectural volume created on a raised area of the ground floor. A representative space that can be used for events and multimedia activities, it is enhanced with Alfa seating by m | artedesign, incorporating the Second Skin option that has allowed the backrest to be customised with the Cogefa logo. A strong identity, present in each and every detail.

The project received an Honorable Mention at the The Plan Real Estate Award 2025 in the Urban Regeneration category and was featured in the February 2026 issue of the prestigious Domus magazine.
