The modular R_9 shelving system by Alea, defined by the combination of straight and curved tubular frames and shelves, has been selected for the ADI Design Index 2025 among the excellences of Made in Italy design, and will compete for the Compasso d’Oro 2026, the world’s oldest and most prestigious design award.

Until October 30, R_9 will be on display at the ADI Design Index Museum in Milan, and from November 12 to 28 in Agrigento, the Italian Capital of Culture 2025. For Alea, this marks its fifth selection in the ADI Design Index. The brand was previously featured with Itube (2023), F65 (2019), Paro (2019, a seating solution by m | artedesign) and, for the first time, Zefiro (2003).
